Sold! A SEAL Wolf Christmas!

May 12, 2012 at 4:48 am (General) (, , , , , , )

Not sure about the title, but Sourcebooks bought A SEAL Wolf Christmas!

It all began with To Tempt the Wolf and Hunter and his wolf pack!

You know how that began. Tessa finds a naked man on her beach. Hey, he’s a SEAL…wolf. What can you expect?  Snowstorm coming. What’s a woman to do???

Then there’s A SEAL in Wolf’s Clothing.

And a return to Hunter’s pack, only this time with one of his SEAL team members, back at the Oregon coast, Finn Emerson intending to protect Hunter’s sister Meara.

Meara catches him before he covers himself with a towel, pretending to be her lover while she’s intending to find a mate. And it’s NOT going to be him. He’s such a devil of a wolfish SEAL hunk.

And now?

I got word last night, talk about TGIF!!! Anna and Bjornolf get their turn!

A SEAL Wolf Christmas (title probably to change)

Navy SEAL Bjornolf Jorgenson and undercover operative Anna Johnson have a rocky beginning at their first meeting all to do with pantyhose and tying her to a bed after some heavy-duty sparring, and him declaring she has mighty fine killer knees. Christmas is coming but thoughts of sugar plum fairies and kissing under the mistletoe isn’t something these two gray werewolves have in mind when they’re tasked to be the newlyweds preparing for Christmas while investigating a SEAL’s murder at a Christmas Tree farm.

Neither care about Christmas, sharing gifts, and all the traditions that go along with the season since neither enjoyed the holiday while growing up. But as they battle each other as to what makes for the perfect newly married couple’s first Christmas, they learn that a little Christmas cheer can become so much more, especially if they can take down a SEAL’s killer before they become his next target.

So get ready for more of Bjornolf. Yum. 🙂  And Anna and her give no quarter attitude!

Today, I’m also signing books at West Waco Library in Waco, Texas, conference room, from 1:30-4.

I’ll be giving out book marks also.

And I’m at Discover New Love all month long!

Have a super great Saturday!!!

Dreaming of the Wolf Ready for Preorder!

March 26, 2011 at 6:57 am (General) (, , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , )

One of the greatest things that can happen after you FINISH the book and send it to your editor is that she comes back and says she loves it!!

One of the things that makes it feel real that you have a new release really coming out is when it’s finally listed on Amazon!!!

There’s no gorgeous hunky cover yet. No description yet even. But it’s up there now. 🙂

I’ve been checking for a while. But nothing. Then when I got home, a Google alert! Dreaming of the Wolf on Amazon!

Jake Silver doesn’t believe in fate or dream mating, despite the fact his brother and other family members have been afflicted with this strange notion. But when dreams begin to plague him about a woman so seductive, he wakes up in a sweat and he’s losing way too much sleep over it, he seeks to learn the truth. Can dream mating be a reality? Is the woman real?

Alicia Greiston doesn’t dream. Not ever. So when a man visits her in the first dream she’s ever had, she’s startled, pleased, then alarmed. He’s not going away, and the dreams take a sinister turn. He’s in trouble, and if the dreams are a foreshadowing of the future, she has to save him.

Anyway, I was excited!!!

Also, Huntress for Hire is up. 🙂 Hope you love it! I have the sequel started if I didn’t lose it in the tons of crashes I’ve had!!!

Available now at Smashwords, Amazon and B&N.

He’s a hunter turned vampire, she’s a huntress of vampires—he’s needs her cooperation to free his family; she’s trained to kill his kind.

Rebel vampire huntress Rachael Bremerton wants revenge against Piaras, one of the most ruthless vampires in Dallas , for the murder of her parents. But when she’s lured by another vampire, Adonis, into the darkness—the same darkness she’s feared since she was a child—she’s torn between her huntress sensibilities and some strange desire to be with the creature she’s meant to despise and destroy.

Adonis, a hunter turned vampire, has been ordered by Piaras to bring Rachel to him untouched. In return, Piaras will release Adonis’s family unharmed. But when Adonis first sees Rachael, his hunter desire to have a huntress mate kicks in, or is it the dark heart of the vampire that makes him crave her so?

Turning Rachel over to Piaras becomes less of an option. But can he find a way to free his family, claim Rachael for his own, and keep her family from discovering he is a hunter turned vampire—a creature they will all feel obligated to hunt down and kill?

I had a lot of fun writing this story! What would you do if you were a huntress and the most intriguing vampire ever caught your eye??

Hope you all have a terrific weekend…

Wolf Shifter Eye Candy–WOLF FEVER is in the stores!!!

December 4, 2010 at 7:44 am (General) (, , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , )

Catch the WOLF FEVER!!! It’s now in stores everywhere!
Werewolves are downright hunky. They HAVE to be in wonderful shape, running great distances, covering their territory, claiming it. So I wanted to share some wolfish pictures of wolves in their prime. 🙂

First, wolves love to swim. This wolf is swimming happily, but when he shapeshifts, he’s enjoying the warm water without a care in the world.

Hmm, yes, think he might need a spot of oil rubbed onto his back, or … elsewhere?

I have to mention wolves nap a lot during the day. Although if you join them in bed for a nice little nap, you might not get one.

To me, he looks like he’s faking sleep, just waiting for you to join him!

Wolves love the outdoors and these wolves are no exception!

Anyone to enjoy the outdoors with him?

An invitation like this is just too much to refuse, don’t you think?

Hmm, yes!

Speaking of wolves, I’ve started my month-long blog tour so if you have the chance, feel free to drop by and say hi!

Love Romance Passion Review of WOLF FEVER…5 Stars!
by Susan S., guest reviewer

A would-not-could-not stop…read! Full of nail-biting suspense, sexy scenes, and plenty of hot alphas to get you through the coldest of winters.

Summary: Carol was bitten during a fight between the reds and the gray lupus garous. Since that fateful day, she’s having trouble coinciding her halves. The human half, a nurse with precognitive powers, and her werewolf half, as a newly turned red. Darien Silver’s grays have been kind, patient, and protective of Carol Wood (heroine). But, as the saying goes, you can lead a wolf into the forest, but you can’t make it howl. She’ll accept their ways, when she’s ready. And not a minute sooner! In the interim, she refuses to shift.

When Ms. Wood realizes she’s in danger in more ways than one, she hires a bodyguard. She’s not only endangering her human patients by refusing to shift, but someone’s determined to kidnap her. Chester Ryan McKinley, hero, is a gray alpha and an uber sexy P.I. She’ll need Ryan 24/7. Oh, he’s qualified all right. He can protect her as a man, or as an alpha wolf. But, who’ll protect her from his “growing” desires? Perhaps, no protection is needed. There’s a bioengineered virus spreading among the packs. When Carol develops a low grade fever, is it too late for loving Ryan?

Review: As a reader who’s been following Spear’s werewolf series, I’m declaring Wolf Fever the best novel…thus far. I held my breath quite a bit with book six. When Carol’s grasping at straws searching for a cure, I felt the desperation. When she’s kidnapped, I felt the horror. Terry Spear knows exactly how to extract emotions from her readers, draw them into the story, and how to keep them riveted until the last word’s printed on the last page. Suffice to say, I’ve added it to my re-read list.

Favorite Scenes: Coincidentally, my favorite scenes involve windows. The first scene is when Carol peers into the forest, and spots a wolf watching her. Time stood still when I read it. Then, there’s the scene where Ms. Wood is in a sunroom, its dark out, she looks out the window and gazes at the moon. Then she loses her tightly reigned in control. Love it! Oh, it bears repeating…love it!

Recommendations: I’m recommending Wolf Fever to anyone who enjoys reading romances. It was a delight to read; I’m sure you’ll agree.

What’s Next? Heart of the Highland Hero (book seven) is set to release in June 2011. Who’s the hero? One sexy laird named Ian McNeill.
Hope you’ve enjoyed a little wolfish eye candy! And if you want to catch WOLF FEVER, stop by and say hi!

How One Werewolf Sees a Setting

May 28, 2010 at 5:20 am (General) (, , , , , , , , , , , , , , , )

In Dreaming of the Wolf, I wanted to write something about the wildflowers in Colorado, because Jake’s hobby is photographing them. So though I’ve researched the types of flowers that grow there, and was surprised to learn our own Indian paintbrush (that grows here in Texas) was growing there wild, I came across this picture at JS Nature photos.

From this picture, I was able to envision a scene. Or, Jake was. And often that’s how I create scenes–by actually seeing a picture and describing it. So if scenes often seem real, they are! 🙂

But putting a picture like this into words can be hard. No matter how I try to describe it….seeing it is just amazing! However, Jake’s take on it will be fun too. 🙂

And when we put the human spin on it, that makes it really special also. It’s not just a field of flowers–gorgeous flowers, but a human experience, based on that human’s background.

Everyone will see the field in a different way. A hunter might look at it as a place he might find his prey. A bird watcher would be wondering what kinds of birds might be nesting here. A flower enthusiast would be more interested in the flowers. A hiker might wonder where the trail would lead.

For me–it was how Jake would envision this field with his camera. You might be surprised. 🙂 Because as much of a wildflower purist as he is, he’s got other things on his mind–and she’s a brunette with a sense of humor to match his own.

Hope you all have a wonderful Friday!!! I’m so excited! I hope to get a lot written over the next 3 days and make the 1/3 mark on Dreaming of the Wolf!!!

So when you look at a picture like this…what do you see?

Ready to Go Spelunking?

October 16, 2009 at 1:00 am (General) (, , , , , , , , , , , , , , )

In Destiny of the Wolf, my heroine and hero end up in a cave–seems appropriate since Silver Town is an old silver mining town, and so at a point in the story…they end up in one of them.

Have you ever been in a cave? Normally, they’re cold. Very cold. And when I’ve visited them, I’m usually dressed for warm weather, so it’s a real shock to the system. Deep in the bowels of the earth, you’d think you’d be getting closer to the hot molten rock of the center of the earth, and it would be warmer, right?

But then again, you’re farther from the sun, so it should be colder, right?

In some caves, it’s definitely colder. I visited one in Maryland, loved the shimmering quartz in the rocks, the water dripping, the stalagmites reaching to the ceiling and the stalagtites clinging to the ceiling, and in some cases, the one dripping sediments on the other until a column is formed.
But did you know that some caves deep in the bowels of the earth are actually warm? I visited one on an island in the Caribbean, the Hato Caves, made of limestone from fossilized coral within a coral reef, where the Arawak Indians left petroglyphs 1500 years ago. Long nose bats live there and it was once both a shelter for the Indians and a burial ground. No whispers of ghosts there that I heard, but maybe at night when all the tourists weren’t around? Who knows. But it’s so warm, it increases the limestone deposits and so it was really spectacular as far as all the wondrous out-of-this world-looking cave formations.
Hato Caves
When I was researching Yellowknife as a place to set Legend of the White Wolf, the gold mining caves under the earth there are also warm. There in the Canadian Arctic! Yep, the miners wore no shirts while they worked in the sauna-like conditions. And once they stopped mining, they hope to harness the geothermal energy underneath the earth to use for the city’s energy resources.
Well, in Destiny of the Wolf, compared to a blizzard, the cave Darien and Lelandi end up in feels warmer, free of the chilling wind. Everything is relative, you know. But then again, they find just the way to heat things up while they’re stuck in a cave until they can find a way out. 🙂

Did I mention I have claustrophobia?

So being jammed into small spaces, surrounded by rock walls and people behind and in front of me, with no quick way to escape really isn’t a feeling I like to experience. However…seeing the beauty of some caves is…and so, conquering my fear, I couldn’t have enjoyed seeing the wonders beneath the earth, millions of years old, and the amateur geologist in me, loving to see this for real, and not in pictures in a book, most. And the historian in me loves to visualize what it might have been for ancient peoples to have hidden in these caves for protection and shelter.

Have you visited a cave? Where and what was it like? If you haven’t, ever desire to do so?

True Ghostly Tale from the Wild, Wild West!

October 11, 2009 at 9:19 am (General) (, , , , , , , , , , , )

Doesn’t this look like a place where ghosts could exist?

We usually talk about shapeshifters here, but because of Halloween and because I’ve always loved ghost stories, I wanted to share one of my own–a true terrifying ghost tale that happened to me many moons ago in the Texas Panhandle.Ever encounter a ghost in your wanderings? I have…it wasn’t the usual human type spirit though.

Here I was, sleeping on a cold night with our Army ROTC cadets on the rocky ground in Palo Duro Canyon. But not sleeping exactly. Everyone else was, but I’m born of the Princess and the Pea blood…which means, anything can bruise me.

So the lumpy, rocky ground kept me awake, the cold, the sounds in the night, the breeze stirring over the cliffs, the thought rattlesnakes, or tarantulas, or scorpions would seek heat would find their way into my sleeping bag, kept me awake. I stared at the sky that stretched forever.

The Texas sky does, you know. In other places, mountains and trees and buildings might break up the sky, but not out there. Not in the vast wilderness that was the Panhandle of Texas. The stars sparkled across the dark sky like jewels twinkling in the night. And I was frustrated with myself for not being able to sleep, knowing we had to run up and down the hills in the morning to search for clues on an orienteering course.
Sometime during that night, I finally drifted off, but then heard the sound of horses running, stampeding in our direction. They snorted and whinnied and the sound was frightening. I recalled deer running through our friends’ tentwhen we camped off an island in our boat in a lake in California. They don’t go around, I thought. The horses will run straight through us and trample us to death.

I tried to wake my sister who was sleeping in a bag next to me. She grumbled at me to leave her alone and I watched the others in the dark. No one heard the noise but me.

I lay back hoping that the horses would skirt around us. I realized the pounding of hooves didn’t shake the ground like it should have. Maybe they were too far away. And then, they moved off in the distance, fading until they were gone. I lay awake for a long time, unable to get over how close we could have been to being trampled, fearing their return. That they’d switch back and come this way again.

And then finally, I was able to sleep and before I knew it, we were sitting at a campfire, cold, achy, having breakfast. I asked about the wild horses. Our cadre said there could be. Sure. But no one had heard anything last night.

Years later, I wanted to write about the wild horses for a magazine, only when I began to research them, I learned others had heard the ghost ponies in the dead of the night. I sat slack-jawed reading the accounts. Ghost ponies? For years, I had believed they were real. The sound of their running, snorts, whinnies were real. It happened.

But they were whispers of the past–of soldiers running Indian ponies off the cliffs in an attempt to keep the gathered tribes from fighting back. Without their horses, the tribes could no longer be mobile. They could no longer mount any campaigns.

The horses were terrified and were driven to their deaths. And now, they live in the canyon forever, a memory of past deeds, a remembrance of their past life.

So what about you? Have you had any ghostly experiences???

Blog Tour for To Tempt the Wolf!

August 29, 2009 at 1:00 am (General) (, , , , , , , , , , , )

Three more days and To Tempt the Wolf is OFFICIALLY released!!! Chance at free copy of book for commenting at Casablanca: Where Werewolves are the Bad Guys! And the Good Guys, too! through Monday! Extra chances for tweeting, posting this on blogs, and reviews of any of the wolf books! 🙂
Every girl ought to have a werewolf hunk to call her own. Don’t you think?

Here are some great reviews that have come in for To Tempt the Wolf!

To Tempt the Wolf is packed with action, mystery and romance, all woven together to make it a thrilling read. The story really moves, with each scene adding to the suspense and building to the climax. It is as packed with characters as the earlier novels, but this one has far more going on, so it grabbed my attention at the start and made me reluctant to put it down. Because he is an alpha, Hunter postures very often and is almost constantly heading off to save someone. Tessa is headstrong but also has a touch of insecurity when it comes to Hunter. They really click as a couple and add just the right zing to the erotic scenes. This one is my favorite so far, but be sure to read the others, Heart of the Wolf and Destiny of the Wolf, and watch for more in this sizzling series. –Shirley, Reviewer for Bitten by Books!

I didn’t realize that this was the third in the book right away and that really didn’t make a difference in the book for me. It can be read as a stand alone. I do know that I will be ordering the other two previous books.

I really enjoyed the book and I have to admit that I managed to read this in a day. The story line just grabbed be from the beginning. Mind you the cover wasn’t bad to loo at either.

This is the first time I have read anything by Terry Spears and I was not disappointed. She left me wanting more which any great book should do.There was alot of action that kept you on the edge of your seat and a little passion as well. I really suggest that when this book comes out on Sept 1 that you pick up a copy you won’t be disappointed.

Cindy of Cindy’s Love of Books!

I enjoyed the werewolf lore that Spear has created for her books. I know that this is not the only one, although I haven’t read the others. Her werewolves live in packs, oftentimes related by family, but not always, and the alpha male (Hunter, for example) rules absolutely, along with his mate, if he has one. As with other werewolf romances the werewolves mate for life, which I always find a nice change from many other romances. It was actually kind of amusing how many werewolves kept popping up in this book – not just the main good guys and bad guys, but also nurses at the hospital, cops, judges, you name it. They’re everywhere. The romance was good, and overall the book was a good read. –Jessica, Curious Readers
