Cookies and milk, of course, and then there’s that special reindeer food. My sister brought it over to my nephews one year with a story about it, and now she has to come over with the food for them every year or they worry Rudolph might pass them by, lol. She lives about an hour away and one year didn’t think she’d make it down for Christmas Eve and tried telling them their mother had it. No way, they got all worried and said only Aunt Wendy has the magical one, she has to bring it. So she had to go drive down and then right back home, late to her party, lol.

    Merry Christmas

When I was young we did some sort of treat, something mom had baked, and a glass of milk. Dad always tried to get me to leave some sort of booze for Santa. I wonder why? And we did carrots for the reindeer.

Since Santa doesn’t come to our house… no. I never did as a child when I did celebrate Christmas. I guess poor Santa did not get a bite to eat there.🙂

  5. Eva S said,

We leave rice pudding for him, my kids used to believe he ate it, nowadays they think it’s our cats…

  6. Lorri-Lynne Brown said,

We used to, but with no kids in the house we don’t anymore.

It was always milk and cookies for Santa and carrots and a bowl of water for the reindeer when we were young though.

  7. Jackie (Literary Escapism) said,

Right now, we really don’t leave anything out. My son is only 22 months old and I don’t think he understands the concept of leaving something for Santa just yet.

Although, once he does understand, we’ll probably be leaving either no-bake cookies (daddy’s favorite) or chocolate chip cookies. Homemade of course.

I don’t think we ever left anything for Santa or his team. Just not a tradition in our family. Sounds like he still gets plenty of treats to help him keep his handsome figure!🙂

  9. Wanda said,

Chocolate chip cookies (baked that day) and milk. My husband’s been trying to convince the kids Santa would prefer Dr Pepepr instead🙂

  10. Diane M. said,

Not since the kids got older. If there are cookies the kids would eat them, both teenage boys. Food never lasts.

  11. Crystal B. said,

Nothing now. As a child, we left cookies and milk.

  12. MsValerie said,

We’ve always left something chocolate…cookies, fudge, cake. This is actually more for the reindeer, as they are particularly fond of chocolate. Santa likes it too, but we’re more concerned about the reindeer.

Cookies and milk for Santa and carrots for the reindeer

  14. Anna said,

We currently don’t have any kids in the house. But when I was little I always use to leave decorated sugar cookies (yummy) and milk out for Santa.

  15. Cathy said,

When the kids were small, we left cookies & milk for Mr. Claus (aka Dad) or carrots & celery with peanut butter for Mrs. Claus (aka Mom). Now the Grand kids put bosscattis, homemade Italian cookies that take my daughter all day to make and milk, hot chocolate or juice, whatever is handy for the kids.

Chocolate and carrots( for the reindeer) at least when I was growing up. Now I don’t do much of anything… on Yule – I make cocoa and eat cookies… on Christmas eve at my fathers we have snack food and hang out.

  17. Colleen said,

As kids, that was not one of our traditions… the only thing that we had out was a bowl of mix nuts and our nutcracker. Now if we left anything out, our dogs would help themselves…😀 Happy Holidays all!

I used to leave out milk, cookies and crudites for the reindeer. There was one year when Santa requested diet soda since he gets so many cookies at the other houses. *MY* Santa used to leave thank you notes for his treat. We had a very polite Santa.

It wasn’t much of a tradition in my house, because we always opened presents on Christmas Eve. My parents come from Europe and I guess that’s how they did it there. Or else they just didn’t want my sister and I to wake them up at the crack of dawn, lol.🙂

  40. Ilona said,
