QUESTION: What is the title of your favorite shapeshifter romance novel?

  1. Darla said,

That is a hard question…there are so many excellent shifter novels that its hard to choose just one!

Visions of Heat by Nalini Singh

  2. AlainaLee said,

this is horrible.. um.. im going with CT Adams and Cathy Clamp – Howling Moon.. gah.. then there is Patricia Briggs’ Mercy Thompson Series… and Yasmine Galenorn’s Changeling ( i love the litttle kitty).. so a three way tie?

  3. Becky said,

I agree–this is a toughie! I’m going to have to go with Rebecca York’s Killing Moon—mostly because it’s the first book of this type that I read and it reeled me in! I’m so hooked on these now it’s about all I read! Love Patricia Briggs, Yasmine Galenorn, Rachel Vincent, Kelly Armstrong and I have so many on my TBR pile yet to go!

  4. Robin Snodgrass said,

I have to agree with my fellow posters – this is one TOUGH question. There are so very many great shifter books available both in print and ebook versions.

I adore Patricia Briggs’ Mercy Thompson series and have to rate those at the top of my choices. Lori Handeland’s wonderful series about werewolves. Eileen Wilks has an amazing series as well. The various shifters in Laurell Hamilton’s Anita Blake series definitely make that a stand out series. Rebecca York’s Moon series is absolutely terrific (including GHOST MOON which I recently read and fell in love with).

I love Jade Buchanan’s Felidae series from Changeling Press; Anne Cain has a relatively new series at Loose Id titled Pawprints that are very good; Celia Kyle has a series with werewolves and yetis at Changeling that are fun and fabulous. Not to be outdone is Dakota Cassidy’s dysfunctional werewolf family (also from Changeling).

Well, I’m sure you get the point that I LOVE shifters. I could fill up several pages with books I’ve loved and books I’m looking forward to.

  5. Lou Gagliardi said,

It’s not so much a one book title but I LOVE The Bloodrunners by Byrd in general. It’s exciting and fast paced and even the men are yummy!

  6. Deidre said,

This really is a toughie, but I would have to pretty much pick a series as well. The Sookie Stackhouse series by Charlaine Harris really clinched the shifters for me because there are so many different types represented and they also co-exist with vampires, which I also love!

  7. J.K. Coi said,

I love Deborah Cooke’s Kiss of Fire, and I’m waiting impatiently for Kiss of Fury!

  8. JUDY COX said,

Guardian’s Keep by Lori Devoti. I really enjoyed it, but I have not read Unbound. I would love to win it.

  9. Audrey M. said,

Why does it have to be just one? I have several, but if I must choose then I would have to say “Here Kitty, Kitty” by Shelly Laurenston is my fave. Southern shapeshifting cats and a leggy woman with anger management issues.

  10. Bianca said,

Bitten by Kelly Armstrong. Not only are the characters very believable, but the descriptions of the shifting and wolves they become really grabbed me.

  11. Colleen said,

My fav is BENEATH A MIDNIGHT MOON by Madeline Baker. Not only can the hero change into a wolf, he can look like another human! 🙂

  12. teresadamario said,

This is tough for me. There are some great ones out there. Rebecca’s come to mind, as does Shelley Laurenston, but the one that still stays with me, still makes me think how sensual, how exciting and original, is by Sherrilyn Kenyon. For a woman who doesn’t specialize in Shifters, for me, she took the cake. Unleash the Night, the story of Wren, a Katagaria. I like the way she divides her shifters into two main groups. One mostly human, another mostly animal. And how she plays those two groups off one another. My favorite romantic scene without so much as a touch is in that book too. “I want my chocolate, kitten, even if it kills me.” It’s one of those “You have to be there lines. LOL.

  13. Lori Devoti said,

I love the Mercy Thompson series, but so far as favorite shapeshifter book, I think I’m going to have to go with Bitten by Kelley Armstrong. Right now, I’m reading our own Jennifer St. Giles Touch a Dark Wolf and really loving it. 🙂
    And, hey! Thanks, Judy. 🙂

  14. Pamk said,

wow lots of great books. But I love Visions of Heat by Nalini singh and shelly laurenston are hilarious. Her last one was fantastic about a dog and a wolf. And the she had oen about a lion and wolf. Just depends on what you want. both of these ladies write fantastic books. Just different kinds thoug. Nalini’s are more tortured and in Shelly’s the ladies love to torture their men lol.

  15. Ali said,

Wow… Seriously? There’s just so many to choose from *bg*
Okay, I’ll go with one of my recent reads from Maya Banks, Golden Eyes 🙂

  16. Channon Valentine said,

This is a real hard one to answer. Just like every else there are too many to pick from. But if I have to choose then it would be Laurell K. Hamilton, Anita Blake series and Sherrilyn Kenyon, Werehunters. But I also like Patricia Biggs, Mercy Thompson. And there are many others, too many to name!!!!!!!

  17. Berrytilly1 said,

Hard to pick one. I will go for easy an easy one. Dark Gaurdian by Christine Feehan….If that doesn’t count then I will go with…New Moon by Stephanie Meyer.

  18. Drea said,

Wow…so many to choose from. I will go with a recent read which was Slave to Sensation by Nalini Singh. I am really loving the whole series, but usually have a soft spot for the leaders.

  19. Mad said,

So many to choose from and I’ve only recently got into these books but I have to say THE MANE EVENT by Shelly Laurenston. Loved the humor in it.

  20. Jambrea said,

Ta’e’sha Chronicles: Daughters of Terra by Theolyn Boese.
Genre: BDSM, Polyamorous Futuristic Paranormal Shape-shifter

This is a very good series. The first two books are out now. 🙂

  21. Greta said,

Okay – I haven’t read a lot of shapeshifter stories. Mainly Lauren Dane, Jaci Burton & Maya Banks & Anne Marie Mckenna. I would have to say it’s a tie between Fire and Rain by Lauren Dane and TriMates by Lauren Dane. I don’t have either of the books you are giving away.

  22. char said,

my absolute favorite shapeshifter book is a taste of darkmess by nina bangs featuring a were saber tooth tiger.

  23. Sarah Mäkelä said,

This is a tough question. I love Rachel Vincent’s novels. Right now I’m reading Dark Lies by Vivi Anna, which is awesome!

  24. Lilly Knight said,

There are so many to choose from, but if I have to pick one then it would be Stray by Rachel Vincent.

  25. Debra Guyette said,

This a very hard question. I am going with Bitten by Kelley Armstrong.

  26. Jennybrat said,

Unleash the Night by Sherrilyn Kenyon

  27. J.K. Coi said,

Oooh, Debra, Kelley Armstrong. Good pick. When I posted earlier, I almost forgot about Nalini Singh. I love Slave to Sensation and Visions of Heat, oh and Mine to Possess. When is her next one coming out again?

  28. Angie T said,

I love the Mercy Thompson series. And I have to agree about “Bitten” as well. MaryJanice Davidson writes some really good werewolves. See…it is too hard to pick just one!

  29. :Candice: said,

ooohhh good one, um… I like Carrie Vaughn’s A Werewolf Named Kitty series, and Patricia Brigg’s Mercy series. I love shapeshifter stories period lol 🙂

  30. Lori Devoti said,

You know the best part of this? I just got the titles for a bunch of new books to check out. 🙂

  31. Dina said,

Jennifer St. Giles “Touch a Dark Wolf”. I have not read “Lure of the Wolf” yet, but own it. 🙂

  32. Leigh Savage said,

    WILD RAIN by Christine Freehan

  33. Donna said,

Almost dont even know how to choose but at the top of the list is Kelley Armstrong, Patricia Briggs, and Carrie Vaughn.

  34. Ann M. said,

OH.. hard question. I’d have to go with Keri Arthur’s Riley series.. Full Moon Rising. I know that it is more urban fantasy than paranormal romance but it does have a lot of romantic elements. I love Riley.. she is a kick *ss heroine.

  35. AJ Hampton said,

I saw a Bitten in one of the posts. I have to agree. I love Kelley Armstrong’s style. “Bitten” was one of the first shifter books I read (outside of LKH that is).

  36. April said,

I love Full Moon Rising by Keri Arthur.

  37. Cathy said,

Tiger Eye (Dirk & Steele, Book 1) by Marjorie M. Liu is a favorite. I’ve been reading shifter books for 15 + years. Susan Krinard’s Wolf series and Dara Joy’s cat shifters got me hooked. Books like Christine Feehan’s Wild Rain and Bianca D’Arc’s The Ice Draagon wet the imagination. Kiss of Fire by Deborah Cooke is the latest read and I’m waiting for her next.

  38. Teresadamario said,

Lori, I’m with you. Isn’t this awesome? what a great question!!!

  39. hawke said,

oops… i posted my answer on the other question.
    full moon rising
    kitty and the midnight hour

    i will defend… later. 😉

  40. hawke said,

see… i knew i misunderstood. i gave you my two favorite titles of 2 very good books(who were sooo much better than the actual titles themselves, and yet i picked them up for that very reason!)

my favorite shapeshifter novel is Narcissus in Chains. yes, its Anita Blake. yes there are vampires. but that is when we get inroduced to Micah who is one of my favorite shape shifters of all time.
ps… kiss of fire is such a total second. dragons are hot. um… crap. that ended up being a pun.

  41. Becky said,

Thanks, guys! I think my TBR pile just doubled!

  42. Chris said,

My favorite shifter book would be Embraced by Darkness, by Keri Arthur. The Riley character is total kick butt and she shifts! She has grown through all the books and is learning new things she can do all the time!

  43. Crystal B. said,

Full Moon Rising by Keri Arthur

  44. Loretta W said,

Wow, I also think my TBR list has grown with all of these titles and authors. It is so hard to say which book is my favorite because I loved reading C T Adams, Rebecca York. Sheriyln Kenyon to many to really list. But I guess I will go with the Killing Moon by Rebecca York. I just love reading about those Marshall men.

  45. Allie said,

I liked Stephanie Meyer’s New Moon, too, but then I really enjoyed the entire Twilight series!

  46. Rachel said,

I think my current favs are the Women of the otherworld series by Kelley Armstrong with Elana and Clay. I really like the Riley Jensen novels too. Darkest Kiss is turning out to be even better than the last book. 🙂

  47. Sierra Wolfe said,

OMG I have to agree with Cathy and say Tiger Eye!

  48. Beth R said,

I love all of the Lora Leigh Feline Breeds, that is what really started it for me.

  49. Pam P said,

I don’t know if I can really just choose one, I love them all and have read almost all the authors mentioned here, including Lori’s which you must read. (Not in the contest, have both).

I also love stories about pyschics, so that’s partly why I love Nalini Singh’s psy series, a combo of the two, pyschics and shifters; but also because she’s done a fabulous job at world-building and with the emotions and romance, both strong and neither taking away from the other. They are all great books, Caressed by Ice now being my favorite, though the others in the series aren’t far behind.

  50. Caitlin Hoy said,

I don’t have a particular favorite but if I have to choose just one it would be Magic Bites by Ilona Andrews. It is kindof a combination book of vampire, shifter, demon, witch, & so on parallel universe that just is one of the best I have ever read. The sequel even better than the first but I put the first down so others who haven’t read or heard of it can look it up.

  51. Donna said,

A very tough question, so I’ll choose my most recent read shifter book. It’s Christine McKay’s The Last Queen. It’s about dragon shifters, which are starting to really appeal to me. The kick is that the heroine is also a shifter, who just discovered that she was one and her evolution to accepting her form. I really enjoyed it since the storyline was so unique to me.

  52. Jennifer Y. said,

Oh that’s a tough one…hmm…maybe Enchanting the Lady by Kathryne Kennedy…one of the few historical-set ones that I have read.

  53. Cynthya said,

Tempting Evil by Keri Arthur. I love this whole series. I’ve been nodding my head as I’ve read everyone’s answers since I’ve read most of them. A couple I haven’t read yet are on my to buy list. I really liked Ronda Thompson’s werewolf series too. For ebooks, Sierra DaFoe has some wonderful shapeshifter stories–I especially like her dragons.
